Eligibility Requirements For the International Students
1. Academic Requirements
Undergraduate Programs:
- Completion of higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent.
- Strong academic background in subjects relevant to the chosen field.
- Official school transcripts and certificates (translated into English if necessary).
Graduate Programs:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent).
- Relevant coursework/research experience in the chosen field.
- College/university transcripts and degree certificates.
2. Test Requirements
English Proficiency:
- TOEFL or IELTS for most universities.
- Some schools may accept Duolingo English Test (DET) or waive the requirement for students from English-medium institutions.
Undergraduate Admissions:
- SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) or ACT (American College Testing) – required by many universities (varies by institution).
Graduate Admissions:
- GRE (Graduate Record Examination) – for most STEM and humanities programs.
- GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) – for business/MBA programs.
- Some programs may require subject-specific tests (e.g., MCAT for medicine, LSAT for law).
3. Financial Requirements
Proof of Funds:
- Must demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover at least the first year’s tuition and living expenses.
- Bank statements (recent, showing liquid funds).
- Sponsor Affidavit (if parents/guardians are funding studies).
- Scholarship or financial aid award letters (if applicable).
Estimated Costs:
- Undergraduate: $20,000–$50,000 per year.(varies by program).
- Graduate: $15,000–$45,000 per year (varies by program).
4. Visa Requirements (F-1 Student Visa)
- Form I-20: Issued by the U.S. university after admission.
- SEVIS Fee Payment: Must be paid before visa interview (currently $350).
Visa Interview:
- Proof of strong ties to Nepal (family, property, future job prospects).
- Clear intent to return after studies (no immigration intent).
- Valid passport, visa application (DS-160), and financial documents.
5. Additional Requirements
- Statement of Purpose (SOP) and Letters of Recommendation (LORs).
- Resume/CV (for graduate applicants).
- Portfolio/Audition (for arts/design/performing arts programs).
